SCHENECTADY — The investigation into the Wednesday afternoon shooting of two brothers continued this morning with no one in custody, an assistant police chief confirmed.

Detectives hope to speak with the older victim today for more information.

Police are also working to identify possible witnesses from police surveillance cameras, Assistant Police Chief Brian Kilcullen said.

Cameras did not capture the shooting itself, but they did capture part of 11-year-old Nasjarah Pulliam’s flight into Jerry Burrell Park, where he collapsed.

“We’re getting a lot of information,” Kilcullen said. “We’re getting a lot of different information.”

Police were still working to piece together exactly what happened, how the brothers were shot and even if they were the intended targets, Kilcullen said.

Kilcullen had no updates on the conditions of the victims, Pulliam or his 18-year-old brother, Shaune Daniels.

The two were shot after 2 p.m. in the area of Schenectady and Hulett streets. Pulliam fled to the park, Daniels to Albany Street, falling in front of Zaid Discount.

The 11-year-old was in critical condition at Albany Medical Center Wednesday evening. He suffered a gunshot wound to his head, with a bullet fragment lodging in his brain.

Kilcullen said he had not received a prognosis from doctors.

The 18-year-old was hit by a bullet to his back. He was in serious condition at Albany Med, Kilcullen said.

Police have made one arrest, in an unrelated stabbing that happened around the same time as the shooting, Kilcullen said.

Alexander Cole, 38, of Stanley Street, faces two counts of second degree assault in connection with the stabbing of two women in the 800 block of Stanley Street. Police characterized the stabbing as domestic-related.

Kilcullen confirmed the Stanley Street stabbing was not related to the shooting.
