Summer is a tough time for Continuing Ed in the REMO Region, but here are four offerings that I have found.

Tuesday July 20, 2010 from 1900hrs to 2100hrs there will be class presented by OFPC titled “Chemical Suicide” at the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad. Please RSVP by July 14,2010 by contacting Denise Schultz at 518-456-3600.

Monday August 16,2010 at 1900hrs there will be class on “Clandestine Drug Lab and Methamphetamines” presented by the Niskayuna Fire Department at their Station #2 at 2772 Troy Schenectady Road, Niskayuna New York. For further information contact Doug Wildermuth at medic101@rr.com.

There will be a challenge exam for EMT-Basic refresher students on Wednesday August 25,2010 starting at 0800hrs at 1653 Central Avenue, Albany NY, presented by REMO. On August 26,2010 there will be a daytime EMT-Basic original and refresher course at the same location. Classes will be held on Thursdays and some Saturdays from 0900hrs to 1600hrs. The Practical Skills Exam wille be held on Saturday December 11,2010 and the NYS Written Exam will be on Thursday December 16,2010. There will be a Rapid Recertification course for Paramedic, Critical Care Technician and Intermediate levels at 1653 Central Avenue Albany, NY. The completed applications are due at REMo by September 20,2010. The Practical Skills Examination will be held on November 11, 2010 from 0800hrs to 1100hrs and the NYS Written Exam will be on November 18, 2010 from 1900hrs to 2300hrs.
