Rescheduling Vacations While On Injured (or Sick) Leave
If you are on injured (or sick) leave and you have a vacation day fast approaching, you must notify the office in writing of your desire to postpone that day to a future date. You must notify the office BEFORE the day in question, otherwise you will lose that day. If you know when you are going to return to work you may pick from an open block. If you are uncertain of your return date you may leave the notice open ended. If you are in a situation where rescheduling a day may force you into a holiday block, you may want to leave well enough alone (just let the day go.)
Seniority on Exchange
Recently the question regarding whose seniority was carried by the person working an exchange-of-time. This language was changed in the last contract. The person working the exchange assumes the seniority of the person they are working for. This includes bumping. If you are working for someone junior to you, you can only bump those members the person you are working for would be able to bump. In addition if you are working for a senior person, you would be able to bump members who that senior person would be able to bump.
